I Want!

Recently I purchased a container to house my rolls of wrapping paper. Sadly it was not tall enough :( with sad face I returned said container. Then my wonderful husband sent me an email with this picture to make me smile. Yes this is the next project on his to-do list! The magic of wire and nails!

Christmas Program

On the Tuesday before Christmas Sebastian had his school's Christmas Program. The kids were too cute singing and "dancing" to a selection of songs that told the Christmas story.  Here are a short selection of pictures form the day.
Here are the proud brothers pre-show
 My little star!
 A group shot
The first 2 rows would be the kids in Sebastian's class... six down on the right would be one of his best friends, the other is the boy diagonally in front of him.

Sebastian and Santa

Sebastian got to see Santa at school. The weekend before this event we had sat down to write his letter to said man in red. As you look at the proofs of his pictures with Santa take note of Sebastian teaching Santa how to shoot a web from his wrist like Spider-man!

This past weekend the boys and I made a gingerbread house... well really Vince ate frosting and Sebastian "read" the construction schedule (i.e.the instructions) to me. Vince would not sit for a picture of our final product.

Joy for Beginners

A novel I recently read. The following quotes rang so true to me. Enjoy:
They had stayed friends over the years, even as their children had gone to different elementary schools. They counted on each other to hold memories and identities, to remember birthdays and Mother's Days when husbands or children might forget, to be the extra backbone when a hard parenting decision had to be made. The wife's wife, they had called each other jokingly, the third support in the three-legged stool that is the unseen structure of many marriages.

The other excerpt from the book:
"They said- Adults need to have fun so children will want to grow up."

Thanksgiving Fun

We gathered in Winston-Salem to celebrate with my dad and family. Before eating we gathered at the Grand Opened Postal Annex that my dad and step mom have opened to pray and give thanks for all our blessings.
We ate and had live karaoke... three guitars and drum and the laptop connected to the TV for chords and words:) fun times!!!! There are a lot of pics. This is just a little peek.
The cousins had a blast playing together!

The drive home on Saturday looked like this.

We Are Thankful

For family and friends. Our supportive parents and siblings. Our amazing and talented nieces and nephews. We have been blessed with a network of such extraordinary family and friends!
For our two sweet, loving, caring, and all around marvelous boys! For the opportunity to be able to stay home full time with them and enjoy these precious years!

For God's love and grace. For His provision and protection. For God's healing and restoration. We have had a very trying year medically, but God has shown himself faithful and provided healing!!!!  To live in a country where we can worship freely. And for the men, women, and their families who sacrifice so much to protect our country and our freedom.
As we teach Sebastian the attitude of gratitude his list of thanks is brief.

Earlier this week the boys went down for a late nap.  Since they went down late, they woke up late... after the sun had set. This did not sit well with Sebastian at all!
S: Mami but the sun is not up yet, it's not morning time.
M: I know son. But it is still the same day. It's time to wake up from your nap.
S: (adamantly) No Mami! It is still dark. It's not morning time!
M: You're right. It's afternoon time. You were taking a nap. It is the time of year when the sun goes down earlier.
I will spare you the rest of the conversation... It took a good 5-7 minutes to coax him out of bed.

Moral of the story- Make sure Sebastian is up from nap before the sun sets!

Sweet Moves

I love no inhibition!

As Mentioned

My attempt to video Vince singing... not a great video but it will have to do, for now:)

Wednesday, November 16, 2011

Vince has hit the gas on his vocabulary skills! I really need to make a video of him "talking". He now says:
Shay-tian- Sebastian
Mami mine- :) melt my heart
all the grandparents:
der- brother
ee-elle- Gabrielle
ueen- McQueen
eh-o- hello
chion- bendicion
oooh- I love you
celcome- welcome
an you- thank you... funny thing is is when he says thank you he has to say welcome too.

He "sings"
Hush Little Baby
Twinkle, Twinkle
Thomas the Train
Itsy Bitsy Spider

He also counts to 11 in English and 10 in Spanish.

I love cachapas! Thanks to my brother I have a small but happy stash of Cachapa arina PAN! I eat them breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Here we are at dinner and Sebastian wanted to eat his own cachapa!! This is a big deal because my sweet boy can be a bit of a picky eater... Bellow is the proof that my little country boy does have some Venezuelan in him!

Is how I would describe our lives over the past week. We have been home bound because of one kid or the other being under the weather. We have missed out in some fun, but oh well. Yesterday and today we have had 2 really nice days so we have enjoyed some fun in the sun and leaves.

Brotherly Love?

Scene: last week in the kitchen.
Players: Eddie, Sebastian, Vince, and a birthday Thomas the Train.

Vince had some difficulties sharing his new train with Sebastian. Sebastian had swiped said train and ran into the kitchen. Vince came to fight back for his train. Eddie is parent present.

Eddie- Sebastian remember your brother is little. He is not as big as you.
Sebastian- (handing train over to Vince) Ok brother, we'll fight when you get bigger.

The truth behind the statement scares me!

Happy Birthday Vince!

Happy Birthday to my little ray of sunshine. We have had a very fun and busy year. Lots of firsts and new discoveries. Here we celebrate Halloween- Buzz Lightyear.
The wheels in your head are always turning. Handy Vince to the rescue of a "broken" vacuum!
Your First Steps! 1st Saturday in December at Aunt Sherri's Salon after the Christmas Parade. Since then you have been non stop!
Still my little daredevil.
I love your little dude personality. For the most part you just go with the flow:)
But we do get those moments...
Water and you are still best friends. I do not have pictures of us in the pool from this year, because we are never just by the pool- my brave soul, you jump clear off the edge of the pool and fully submerge your head under water- all while laughing hysterically!

And that funny bone of yours has kept growing right along side you;)
Your first hair cut
You went down the big slide before your big brother!
Loving life
Loving your spaghetti
over the past month you have shown a love for books- which makes me very happy!
But your heart beats for choo-choo trains!
You can lay down your tracks.
 and enjoy the ride.
Thank you for sharing with us your life! We are very blessed to call you our son! We look forward to all the new discoveries you will make this year. Though you keep getting bigger, you will always be my baby...  so please don't grow up too fast!
